Partnership with Charities Trust recognised

The Big Give has won the award for Best Charity Partnership at the 2015 Third Sector Awards. The award recognises the partnership with Charities Trust, our online donation payments processor, a registered charity (No: 327489).

“We are delighted to have won the award” said Alex Day, General Manager of the Big Give. “It demonstrates the trust and respect the sector has for our partnership with Charities Trust. We hope to go from strength to strength to continue delivering added value to charities, donors and philanthropists across the country.”

The Big Give first partnered with the Charities Trust, an organisation experienced in match funding, to deliver the Christmas Challenge in 2008. We worked together, developing an online portal, payment processing system and a database. A funding pot was established with money from the Reed Foundation and others.

The Christmas Challenge has raised more than £64m for UK-registered charities since 2008. In 2014, it raised £11.2m for 367 charities, with £1.5m raised in the first five minutes it went online. The average donation of £268 is significantly above the national average of £39.

Stella Smith, one of the judges, said: “This entry is a great and innovative initiative that has been particularly well executed.”
